Linux is not hard, it's ignored - Column

Catch 22 here, why would a product maker spend $1000's dollars to relase a linux driver of some sort for a small minority of users.

The point is they don't have to. They can get the drivers written for free, and fully integrated into the Linux kernel..

All they have to do is provide the technical details to Greg Kroah-Hartmans driver development team, if necessary require the developers sign an NDA, the Linux Foundation Lawyers have all the necessary documents ready to sign, and it won't cost them $1000s of dollars.
