Please !!!!!! Can somebody help desperately seeking solution

Acer aspire one mail ( as above )

Lesmin, sorry but your post is a little unclear.

Please post some more details on your email account type (eg Gmail, MWEB etc) and your connection type (eg dial-up, wireless via router using telkom/iburst).

Can you connect to the internet and surf webpages?

We use GMail on our Acer AspireOne with Linpus, we have a home WLAN connected to iBurst. It is also important to note that IMAP needs to be enabled on your email account (this is done with your ISP, or via the web interface if you use GMail).

Have you created your rescue media? If not I would say you should do this now, incase you need to reinstall Linpus.

Also, have you allowed the machine to retrieve and install all the required and optional updates?

HI there,
I am using a wireless adsl or wired lan with a telkom a/c for both connection and e'mail can surf the web and receive mail no problem. When using vodacom or mtn with 3g all works well. Thank's I hope this info helps
Thank's Lesmin.

You have to download a 3rd party mail program. Www.opensorce.org the Acer Linpus Lite is notoriuos for this kind of thing. I have clients who just return it for a XP based machine. Sowi dats the best I got

Thank's Lesmin.

Are you setting up your SMTP server correctly?

If you are on one of the mobile networks.. you HAVE to use their smtp server. IE:
mail.mtn.co.za or smtp.vodacom.co.za

If you are on SAIX/Telkom network, you need to use smtp.saix.net as your smtp server.

Hi there, thank's for responce if I use Vodacom or Mtn everything works perfectly, only when using Telkom adsl wifi or lan with smtp.saix.net or smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net cannot send e'mails (error login network instability try again later) cannot understand what the problem can be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You are not trying to authenticate on the way out for those servers or have ssl enabled? Have you tried a different email client? perhaps install Thunderbird?

Thank's again for responce, but I really would like to use the system as it is,and the ssl is not enabled. Acer themselves have tried 3 acer aspire one netbook's and they all do the same.
Thank's again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well if thats the case its pretty simple. Theres:
A) Either a problem with the email software
B) There is a bad configuration on the mail server.

This is assuming that those three tested netbooks were tested from outside your network (otherwise your network may still be a culprit).

What is the email client for limpus? Did it used to work then just stopped?

Yes the 3 netbooks were tested outside my network, the e'mail cleint for the acer asp ire one is called (aspire one mail)
Thank's for your interest.

Sounds like the default software has something it doesnt like. Ive honestly never heard of it before. If that was my PC.. It would be well worth the effort to install Thunderbird (Firefox`s sister).

use thunderbird for email, acer makes crap software...

including windows, had a PC bsod constantly after installing the acer software.

Edit;
just remembered linpus is crap, download an install ubuntu, thunderbird and most software is easy to install with ubuntu.

100% agree.

Nuked my LINPUS within the first week and never an issue. Would rather run Vista on a 486 than use LINPUS again :D
