Linux Mint 8 helena --Help

Hi

I am a n00b trying to switch to linux but still need some "wind0z only" apps ,
heard virtualbox is the way to go ,but open to suggestions.

Yeah, vbox is definitely the way to go.

What Windows specific apps do you need?

mainly photoshop ,illustrator and some other graphix apps
tried gimp and inkscape but its just not the same

Specs not to bright : AMD +3200 (64bit)
2GB DDR 400mhz
AsRock VM800 mobo
320Gb HDD
ATi Radeon 9550 (128mb) ghx

Virtual Box will have no problem running on that system. Just make sure to install the guest additions on the Windows VM, for seamless mouse and keyboard use in Mint.

Meh. I'm having hassles installing Mint in a vbox VM. Runs perfectly fine off the live CD (iso), but once it's installed and you reboot, the system doesn't boot.
Dammit. Couldn't be arsed to faff with it to get it to work. Pity, because it looks awesome.
