Linux Mint and TBird

I am running the latest version of MINT and Thunderbird

I am using the IMAP protocol.

How do I save the mail already downloaded on my PC??

If i delete the mail from the webmail interface/server, it obviously deletes from thunderbird.

what am i not doing/thinking?

Create a folder under the Local Folders section. Move mails you want to keep into that folder.
