Linux mobile to dominate in 2015

The only reason Linux will dominate is because Nokia is going that route - and they dominate - period.
 
I AM ****ING MCLOVIN IT! Open Source is taking over the world, and all the shiny shoe people are running and ducking for ****ing cover because now they cannot figure out how to pay for their shiny cars with a few emails and phone calls. POWER TO THE PROGRAMMER! We speak 010001010100... and we own you.

" Oh yea? You and what army? " .... the hacker paused... and a sly grin appeared on his face. Behind him the trees and bushes started shaking violently... and as the crowd struggled to to keep their stance... a behemoth arose from behind the hill.... it was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with the letters G-O-O-G-L-E written on it....

The hacker turned back to the crowd and shouted: " Bring it! "

Yeah lets be realistic we're not headed for some sort of utopic future just because Linux is being adopted, but it's a good thing.

Probably the best Smartphone OS is also Linux based: WebOS. But it seems to be languishing under HP. They should do something about it.

Remember HP used to make Smartphones?
 
So thats half the WinTel alliance in trouble. If Intel doesn't do something about Atom's power usage then ARM will dominate them :)

OS X is not Linux at all. It uses the XNU kernel, which is open source, together with UNIX, and propietary drivers, and technologies on top of that.

edit: The UNIX bit is based on NextSTEP, which is somewhat based on BSD.

None of this has anything to do with Linux, except that they are both UNIX-like OS'es, or flavours of UNIX.
