Linux Wizzards needed - connecting USB 3G modem to wifi router

Hello there all,

OK, here's the story:

I bought my SO a cute little netbook (Asus Aspire One - going for R1999 at incredible corruption!). I have a wireless router at home Asus WL-500G Premium which is awesome. My interwebs connection is a stupid 3G USB connection from vodadam (Huawei K2350 as far as I can remember).

Now there is a group of people doing some amazing things online in terms of building a better linux platform on the router. I have reflashed my router to use this:
Koppell 3rd Party FW

Unfortunately this formware doesn't have built in support for the Huawei K3250, so I need to get a few things:
USB device Vendor ID (0xabcd):
USB device Product ID (0xefgh):
Username:
Password:
Dial in NUmber:

Does anyone have the necessary 5 things above? I presume I'll need to call vodacom for username and password)?

Also, has anyone ever done anything like this before?

The username and password are empty AFIK, the dial in number is like *90# or something like that

USB device Vendor ID (0xabcd):
USB device Product ID (0xefgh):

You can get these if you plug the modem into a computer; dmesg | tail in Linux, or look in device advanced properties in Windows.
Vendor ID will probably be 0x12D1.

Username:

Leave blank.

Password:

Leave blank.

Dial in NUmber:

*99#

Eish, no joy...... What about an APN number?

Device ID I found in USB properties (of the modem not the USB storage) is 0x1001, you were correct about the vendor ID.

How do I find a log or something to see what this thing is actually doing and what the problem is?
