The rugby sub-thread is gone, but the tour may yet take place - hopefully.

Who are the bolters you have in mind for the Boks and/or for the Lions?

I reckon Jasper Wiese would fit in nicely at number 8 should Duane not be available.

Am so out of touch with SA Rugby at the moment. Not sure who's injured, who's fit, who's eligible, who isn't. I'd probably go with the same starting XV that contested the RWC final, Beast being the obvious exception. Regardless, I think we're going to be on a hiding to nothing. The Home Nations have been playing 6 Nations and their local comps. They are far more match fit than we are. Rassie and Jacques have their hands full, make no mistake.

Yeah i dont give us a chance in hell. Simply no match practice at test level compared to the lions

The 36 players to represent the British and Irish Lions in South Africa this summer will be named shortly after 12:00 BST on Thursday (6 May).

So... 45 mins to the announcement

Alun Wyn Jones, captain....

Backs: Josh Adams, Bundee Aki, Dan Biggar, Elliot Daly, Gareth Davies, Owen Farrell, Chris Harris, Robbie Henshaw, Stuart Hogg, Conor Murray, Ali Price, Lewis Rees-Zammit, Finn Russell, Duhan van der Merwe, Anthony Watson, Liam Williams.

Forwards: Tadhg Beirne, Jack Conan, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Tom Curry, Zander Fagerson, Taulupe Faletau, Tadhg Furlong, Jamie George, Iain Henderson, Jonny Hill, Maro Itoje, Alun Wyn Jones (capt.), Wyn Jones, Courtney Lawes, Ken Owens, Andrew Porter, Sam Simmonds, Rory Sutherland, Justin Tipuric, Mako Vunipola, Hamish Watson.

SA is expected to hear the Bok squad announcement from Jacques Nienaber in early June.

Pretty much the starting XV RWC final 2019, barring 1 or 2 changes... I would imagine...

According to rugby365.com, warmup tests against the USA and Italy have been cancelled due to Covid. Instead, the Boks will now play two tests against Georgia on July 3rd and July 10th (venues & kick off times TBC)

What is the point

They should just play SA green vs SA gold or something

The B&I Lions are playing 6...SIX...preparation matches to our 2. WTAF??? Why not add in playing against Namibia as extra matches on top of the 2 games against Georgia.

Wasn't there talk of a possible test against the USA? I'd like to see us play atleast 3 games before playing the Lions
