As stated before, we have an automated process in place to monitor and resolve these listings but it appears our backup process (mc721221) is, on occasion, faster :D

Seriously though, the issue is receiving extremely high priority. I hope to give more feedback very shortly.

if your end user IP is blocked then whats the complaint? there is no reason for you to email from your machine, use the SMTP server supplied by Vodacom. If that server is blocked then I appologise and bitch all you like.
But it honestly seems like your just bitch about this all the time.

Hmm, so why is there no posts about the real problem instead of repeating ths same silly crap over and over again.
 
Surely would not take too much for Vodacom to do this? They cannot say that traffic will be increased too much as we paying to send it to their server anyway.

Personally, I use Hetzner and simply send via their SMTP server so not a hassle for me and when I chop and change between 3G, ADSL and client networks I do not need to change my outlook settings, so just easier all round.

And, as someone else has already said, therefore I don't care if 3G's ip is blocked. Typically someone sending directly from their own machine on a "dynamic" ip basis is only out there to abuse??
 
By later tonight there will be a one-to-one mapping to a range of legal addresses. No more NATing to just one IP.

Please use smtp.vodacom.co.za if you have need for a SMTP relay (Kaspaas, this one's for you :) ).

This server is not fully in production but rather has been set up as a temporary solution to help in the mean-time, while we put up a production system.

Great!!

Another example of Vodacom listening to users. I spoke to V3G and explained why an SMTP server is essential for the SOHO market, and .... well you can see the results!

I suggest that you go and see your math teacher on Monday and ask your teacher to help you work out the following:

If Vodacom can't keep 10+ IP addresses from being listed at spamhaus, then what are the odds that they are going be able to keep one IP address for smtp.vodacom.co.za from being listed?

If the listings are malicious - nill
 
There is no need to fume about a non-issue - unless you are a spammer.

V3G has announced smtp.vodacom.co.za as SMTP relay.

I know for sure Vodacom is well aware of the fact that it is impossible to keep such a wide range of IP's not listed. That is why they decided to offer a SMTP relay server (smtp.vodacom.co.za) - against what they initially decided.

In fact, I'm quite sure that the IP-range they are using for data services will soon be listed on the " Dial-Up Lists" which are used even more widely than Spamhaus to reduce spam.

Please use the facilities Vodacom provides. I'm pretty sure the SMTP server will be managed in a very professional way, such that Spamhaus will not list it.

As posted before the current server was put in place as an interim solution to help out while the production server (bigger, better, faster, with all the anti-spam software, etc.) is being built.

We could either have waited for this new server, but decided to rather put something out quickly and in good faith.
