I would like to know from you guys if there are any gaming sites (communities or whatever) where you can fight against other people and gamble money on the match.

E.g. - I put R50 on a game against Tom and if i win i get back my R50 and i also get Toms R50...

You guys heard of this? Where can i go look for this?

EDIT: erm, the thing i am looking for should basically be the hub for these gamblers to come together

Not that I know of.
Could be fun.
It'll add an impetus to online gaming like you wont belive.
This could be the birth of "professional" online gaming.
Hey - i'm in - it's quite easy to "spy" on games in progress as they all publish the scores and stuff.

Good Idea.
Pity you told the world.

Lol real fights :) Why bring a crowbar when you can bring a plasma rifel.

Erm, its already being done. Dont worry about that ;) when the beta is over i will set you guys up... but it is looking KIEF! 2 really cool games are being supported! YEAH!

anyhow, so you guys dont know of anything else?

So lets say i challenge sum n00b 2 1 vs 1 css or wc3 and then we do it thru the site at lets say R50 a pop each, how much would i get if i win and how much of that would the site get?
Cos i can see this becoming a bet R50 and win R5 if u win.

Also how would the funds be allocated? ie how is it deducted from my bank acc or put into my bank acc?

What i would suggest is that the site has its own "bank" that when i register i put in lets say R250 and then in the account itself that R250 is dedicated to an account for me, so if i win that R250 is increased with the winning amount and if i lose its deducted.

And lets say that the site should charge hmm...2-5% interest a month on your acc to make money. Or should there be a subscription? That would be relatively fair?

What do you guys think?

J

err, there is a ranking system involved for each game being played. this sorts out that fatal1ty doesnt own me in shooter1 and shooter2.

come on, there MUST be something else out there

oh, and yes, it works on "credits", which you buy and compete with. i dont know yet how big the bets are gonna be, but it will be interesting ;)

less than 3 weeks to wait for news on final release...

Remeber it should be games that are truely one-on-one games...not a BF2 or CSS - more like Rise of Nations/AoE etc although betting on clan matches doesn't sound like a bad idea ;)

Oms betting on clan matches will be ftw, cos the clans have super egos and will all bet their money, ahah retards.

But wot about an aim maps css 1vs1?
Even q3?
And wen q4 comes out.... :D

can't be legal for under 18's to gamble in any sort of way.......but u not 18 right! :)

eye_suc, that sounds really awesome. I think it would do really well...

Would be awesome for outside people to bet on the matches, then spectate them as well. Not everyone's a good gamer, but a high profile match between the two top ranked players for a game (eg q4) could be cool to bet on...

It could even be done with FFA, 4 plays in a game, winner takes all...

Yes, clan matches ;)

This sort of activity will fall under the gambling association, are you paying your license fees? its about $50 000 per year afaik.

And yes, if you use real money, you need to pay for a real license.

hehe, we just doing the frontend and backend design. its a company from overseas, so unfortunately us lucky folk in SA will NOT be able to participate in the fun. will never be low enough latency for that.

the biggest support is for FPS games (team and deathmatch games) cause they can be over quickly (no more than 30 minutes please), thus RTS games are out, cause you get those guys that just sit and build defenses forever.

in any case, i am just as disappointed with this. the site looks awesome, the concept is brilliant, the backing is there but we will be left outside in the rain...
