Live Kangaroo Viewing in SA?

I would rather take him to ETosha and view animals in the wild than a Zoo.

Apparently there are a few different types of kangaroo that range, but the Pretoria Zoo has quite a few. Also, I remember the enclosure allowing you to get quite close to them.

In fact I think they are the only zoo in Africa with drop bears.

Think they're the Aussie equivalent of a panda, loaned out by the government as gifts to countries they have a close relationship too. Pretoria's few were for the fall of apartheid, but there's a whole explanation in their special habitat thing.

Yea, you can't get too close to the drop bears (for obvious reasons) and are supposed to not use a flash near the enclosure either as it drives them nuts and they go on a killing spree but if you have a decent camera and tripod you can get quite good photos of them.

The Kangaroo enclosures are viewable from practically all sides so you can get quite close.

Pretoria Zoo also have Komodo dragons but I think that is because they are the only natural enemy of the drop bear and are kept hungry in case the drop bears get out.

Thanks for all the advice, but I fear that you okies are sidetracking in killer Koalas and all, I just need locations, besides Pretoria Zoo where I can view these beasts......
