Live traffic app for Android

So, my TomTom GPS battery finally gave in. Reason why I got it was for the Live Traffic updates.

It looks like I will have to pay R1k for a replacement battery. Hence, I am also looking at alternatives.

Is there any apps for Android that includes live traffic updates you guys would recommend? I have searched and read some reviews, but I am looking for some real experiences. Also include potential costs if possible.

I personally use Waze/Google maps they both have traffic coverage and I find them pretty accurate. I check it daily for work traffic.

Waze is a community based map app and gets its various traffic feedback (traffic,accident etc) from users. I find it great just that its a massive power monger.

So basically in the morning and after work I first check traffic on Waze, then I use Google maps. Mind you that Google bought Waze recently so I'm starting to see reported accidents from Waze on Google maps.

Google Now actually tells you about updates made in Waze to traffic data along your route... was quite impressed by that.
