Seriously cool idea.

Years ago when I was still a lightie fresh out of varsity I met someone who did exactly this. He bought a used bus from one of the Thabazimbi mines & was converting it into living space for him & le wife after retirement. Plan was to flip-flop between le son & le daughter in different provinces & enjoying everything in between.

Those water tanks go low, between the wheels if you can btw.

It will mostly be the interior which is modified, so roadworthiness shouldn't be a problem. We will however find out what the requirements are before starting the build.

Why? use your son/daughter's address and they give a letter stating you life there. /win.
RICA/FICA is the biggest sham of all and so easy to bypass with incorrect info...

The only issue I can see is accessibility. By using a double decker bus you are limiting the routes that you can follow.

PS. Wife and I are planning a similar trip. Not in a bus, though, but a Voyager.
