Is it possible to use a splitter instead of a quad LNB?

I am afraid not. There is upper band and lower band, and vertical and horizontal frequencies. Each of the LNBs in your dual LNB has to be set on one of these 4 combos there.

Your DStv kit is telling the LNBs to go to lower band, with one on horizontal and the other on vertical. You need that separate LNB to go to upper band.

I connected one of the LNB cables to the 990 decoder and it was easy to tune it to LM Radio,sound is much better than the Internet streaming and I just love the music,so will get the quad LNB soon, thank you for your valuable input!

I emailed LM Radio feedback to ask for more help regarding setting up the decoder.Chris Turner phoned me and said the PVR don't work but all other decoders should work.I have a D720 decoder and tried to set up but no luck.He said I am welcome to phone him for more assistance if required.Very helpful crowd it seems.I have his cell no if anyone requires assistance.

Please can you assist us as to how do we go about connecting the dish cables for our HD PVR to a second decoder DSD1131 to receive LM radio.

LM Radio is on the high band, so if you only have 2 cables from a twin LNB on the dish, you will need to make some changes. You need a 3rd cable from a quad LNB on the dish. The 3rd cable needs to go directly to the DSD1131. Then you program an additional frequency of 12682MHz, Horizontal High, SR 26657, FEC 2/3 on the DSD1131.
