Load balancing vs bonding and what options exist

Bonding, there's a playback from wayback.

I remember line bonding being "a thing" & many cheap-ass SA corporates deciding to drop Diginet in favor of line bonders.

The problem was it was being used with VoIP and using more bandwidth does not inherently solve the problem of providing crystal clear voice. It does though up the ISP revenue...
 
Fusion and iTried build a SDWAN network for this purpose. They already have their aggregators at various ISPs and you only need the edge node on site witch makes it more cost effective.
 
i personally prefer multiple smaller wan links , and then either manually route certain traffic over those individual links or do sd wan if the need arises , ie voip i want on a dedicated link and no other traffic must go over that link.

Having to direct specific traffic over dedicated lines or VLANs is workable but not optimal. This is required when you have a routered network in a mesh topology where the QoS is only applied on the uplink but not duplicated on the downlink from the neighbouring router. Fusion applies the QoS to the Edge and applies the reverse automatically to the aggregator.
You can test it if you want.
 
It's all about cost vs benefit.
Can you justify the costs that come from bonding links vs the benefit it gives you?
Then it makes sense.
Everything else is just SDWAN.
