Because it is..

Also these schedules were clearly designed by idiots... there is not even a vague attempt to make them "fair"... certain areas just get nailed more than others.
They throw darts at a board blindfolded to determine who gets shed and for how long

Sigh, that's me.

... woke to the sound of birdsong drowned out by generators and it seems gennies will be the last thing I hear before drifting into the land of Nod tonight
Checking the schedules I'm now hoping for Stage 3 to be declared before 14:00 - then I'm off the hook for the rest of the day :whistling:

Yeah. They claim to design the schedules with fairness in mind, but the only way they can be considered fair is if we had load shedding 24/7. Considering we don't, some areas simply get ****ed over while others never go down.

Fingers crossed… even Stage one would be better.

They probably think if they start sooner, they can stop stooner, and that they are helping you... but they aren't. once can plan when you know the times, if they change it, it's an issue.

Oh well, at least it is only one slot today and even though it was 4 hours as opposed to the scheduled 2:30 hours it won't wreck my day.

Even if they loadshed 24/7 the schedules aren't fair by any stretch of the imagination.

does anyone know why i cant purchase prepaid electricity

Yes. There is an electricty supply shortage so they have stopped selling it in hopes of reducing demand further as an adjunct to load shedding

Not very hande when they are wrong... :(

Dear (My_Name),

Our early warning system correctly detected at 5:30am that load shedding would commence at 06:00am and stage change alerts with schedules were sent out as expected. However, one of the data feeds we rely on to detect load shedding erroneously changed state that led us to incorrectly send out LOAD SHEDDING HAS BEEN SUSPENDED emails. Please ignore these emails, load shedding is indeed on stage-2 until 22H00.

We are rectifying our code and algorithms to make us more resilient to these types of situations in the future. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Remember, if you are unclear about the current status you can always go to our site www.loadsheddingalerts.co.za where we show the current stage in a square block on the top left of the page.

Kind Regards
