As if load shedding wasnt enough we've also got scheduled outages in my area . . . 9 days (8 to 5) between Feb 5th and the end of June.

I still am - the area really does need it. What we dont need is load shedding on top of this.

Well, by feb load shedding will be 8 hours anyways - hope for your sake they line up with the 8-5 outages...

On the subject - mine is being told she may no longer:
make tea
make toast
turn on any lights

I am also:
buying a push mower for gardener and trading in the weedeater for clippers.

We *all* need to save power, after all.

Around where I live? Probably none. These outages are nothing new - we had them for the last 2-3 months last year so we're used to it.

Yesterday our lecturers told us we must please bring torches every day because she is lecturing with or without power. Everyone thought that was very funny until we noticed she was serious. (The lecture halls don't have windows)

Now that we have Gas Turbines to ease load the outages are getting worse. I give up. Today we had, I guess you call then power dips. Lost 2 PC's at a chain of resturants I look after. I would love to see the frequency graphs for Cape Town today.
