I am busy building this huge, caged in ferris wheel in my back yard. The 84000 hamsters I ordered should arrive any day now. I should be OK!

As if load shedding wasnt enough we've also got scheduled outages in my area . . . 9 days (8 to 5) between Feb 5th and the end of June.

A small notice board ,I wonder how many people saw it ?
Planned outages should be on newspapers where everyone can find & understand it easily.
How about putting it alongside Etv , SABC daily/weekly TV programme schedule ?
Indicate what time slots ,areas ,outages ,overloading frequents or surplus off-peak capacity exist .
.
They're A2 and located on all the routes into the burb so its not too bad.
I'm sure they've also informed people in the local rag - they usually do.

Who actually reads them?
Mine are usually unceremoniously dumped in my driveway, and in this weather, are soaked by the time I see them.
I have thrown all but one this year straight into the bin.
Sometimes they are "covered" in a plastic bag - badly.

Should be on daily newspaper,knowing power interruption(in advance ) is as important as knowing weather ahead.we need to minimize inconvenience ,because it most certainly will happen more often than we can tolerate.
If the information is on the newspaper daily/weekly schedule ,residents can find it ,do not need to be found and told.

Well its quarter past the hour and we still have power - I think they're lulling us into a false sense of hope that they've decided to postpone their activities.

7pm sounds more like a power outage due to "unscheduled maintenance".
Load shedding is usual from an "even hour".
It was closer to 8pm than 7pm (I just had a look at the time stamp from a SMS the missus sent).
As for even/odd hours . . . the municipality pays scant regard to the load shedding schedule they publish.
