Load Shedding - the all in one thread

So another week of power cuts (the dial's brown again). If you get or have been shed, report here, please!

Stage 2 already.
Note how the "mine curtailment" message is gone (as at 8:45 when I checked).

So, its FU to the businesses this week, and power to the mines.
 
On Friday, Eskom wanted us to submit a quote by 10AM for a Particle Flow Simulation Package. Unfortunately we did not have power and I only received their email this morning. :D

The problem is thus:

It makes no mention of power stations coming on line, or areas going down.
Let us take three scenarios - both starting from 6:30am when it was Stage 2.

1) A massive 5000MW comes online suddenly - say a station that was down for maintenance, is back up this morning. That would make it GREEN suddenly.
2) Everyone in the country saves 20% at the same time - That would make it GREEN (or ORANGE) suddenly.
3) An entire province or major urban area has a "fault" (like CT on Friday). Suddenly it is GREEN again.

Rate the above in order of likelihood. :D

Now its Orange....Ok...could be the startup of companies at 8...somewhere along the line were scoring...Usely at this time of the day its in the brown.
 
Moederloos : you forgot option 4

4) That gauge is complete bullshyte, and doesn't actually show anything that even vaguely relates to the current power situation in this country.

I'm from the future, 15 years later and it's only got worse lol.
- Blackouts last 6 -8 hrs a day,
- Big Business and Banks are preparing for a total blackout,
- The ANC and cartels' have bled Eskom dry ( R 1 Billion is stolen every month )
- Someone tried to murder the Eskom CEO who has fled the country for his safety.

The Rand is now R18/ $1 up from R7.80/ $1
The price of petrol is now R23/ltr from R8/ltr

See you in another 14 years, maybe... :unsure:

According to the schedule on the Eskom site, the current time for our area means that we fall under Brown Stage 2, which means that they are experiencing a shortfall of between 1500MW and 3000MW. lol @ Eskom

Good ol' days back when people were outraged over stage 2 load shedding.
