Load Shedding - the all in one thread

we are on the third last brown segment / pie piece.

And no load shedding?

How on earth is that possible - how on earth are we in brown with no mining taking place?

I can only assume that the "browness" is based on output - so are we now outputting under 26000MW?

The mind boggles.
 
Anybody being "shed?" The poweralert site shows brown, but Eskom's site says there's no load shedding ATM.

Ajax - the mines are.

That is why we are not.

By Wednesday the mines will be back on - whether allowed to or not. Or, they may as well start closing.

I'm sure the mine workers would burn down a few things if they don't get back to being paid soon...
I'm sure eskom + gov have no idea wtf they are doing to this country.

I just heard from a reliable source that the mines are REALY still down...So why the high power usage then?? If all the mines have to start what then??

I don't trust that site tbh. They might just be trying to cut usage to conserve coal etc, Eskom don't have much credibility with me anymore.

They are fools then. No one is going to cut since most companies are now running at 120% plus to make up for lost time.

However, you could be right, seeing as how they ARE fools.

It wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure companies ignore that site, I wonder how many people actually pay attention to it? How many people here run around switching off lights and geysers when they see it hit brown?
