There mass confusion in our offices today regarding load shedding. Some have heard reports that the load shedding will now be halted until further notice while others have received updated load shedding schedules, in most cases showing increased load shedding.

Now, can somebody 'shed' some light on the matter for me please? Is load shedding still going to happen or not?:confused::confused:

as per eskom website:

ESKOM WILL NOT INITIATE PRE-
EMPTIVE/SCHEDULED LOAD
SHEDDING DUE TO ENERGY
SAVINGS AND EFFICIENCIES BY
MUNICIPALITIES AND INDUSTRY.

HOWEVER IN THE EVENT OF
THE NETWORK BECOMING
STRAINED OR AN UNPLANNED OUTAGE
, EMERGENCY LOAD
SHEDDING WILL BE CARRIED
OUT ACCORDING TO THE
PUBLISHED SCHEDULED LOAD
SHEDDING SCHEDULES.

on highveld this morning they had an eskom guy saying no LS " this week " - but incase of network danger - they'll implement LS

this is very confusing.... 2 weeks ago they were saying that their 10% savings has not nearly been reached in the country and that is why were load shedding. Now 2 stations have blown up, eskom probably realised that switching station on and off on and off destroys them.

I think they wont be load shedding now, just random power cuts like it used to back in the errr..... good old days??

What exactly is "PRE-EMPTIVE LOAD SHEDDING"?

If there is no need to loadshed, then don't loadshed.

It's worse than they're saying

I think you're spot-on, mate, as I said here - I don't believe Eskom either.
