Loading a data bundle to tablet

My mother has a Lenovo A3000 tablet with a Telkom Mobile SIM. Is there any way she can load data bundles without having to remove the SIM? I've looked all over the device and can't find a way to send USSD commands on the SIM. Running Jelly Bean.

For pepaid and Telkom SIM connection point your browser to http://onnet.8ta.com for balance checking, recharge, etc. No login required when accessing from Telkom SIM. If is not always good, as everybody who has access to your LAN can mess up with your SIM (transfer money, etc.).

BTW, http://telkom.co.za is free site (except third-party addons - like coverage map), so you would find it anyway...
