I tried updating window XP pro SP2 with Vista Home, but my hardware/software and drivers were not compatible,so I downloaded Vista transformer pack and it worked fine, until I tried changing the setting,eg desktop clock and do changes to the desktop, but it came up with and error and then it disappeared.I tried uninstalling vista transformer and reinstalling. But now I am left with a blue boot error screen.I cannot log into windows at all now just the blue screen and it go no further.
Please I need help because I need my PC at home for work etc.I do not want to format my HDD because I need the info on it, and all the data, I cannot login at all.

Do yourself a favour, and get your hands on a live Linux CD. (You can download relatively small ones) - This will allow you to access your data, and back it up.

Then re-install windows.

Alternatively, connect your drive as a second drive in a system running windows, and access your data that way.

Whats the error code on the Blue Screen (BSOD), it sould be something like 00x<some code here>

I will be reloading Windows XP tonight, and forget about Vista for the time been. The stop error code is #00000.080, I don't know if that will help? I thought of taking the HDD out and loading it in another PC , but the easier way will be reloading Windows XP. thanx guys for your help. I'll let you know what happens.

Nothing works, not even in Safe mode, not a single one works if I use F8 on WXP, I get the blue screen with all of them.

for everyone who is reading this thread, if you run windows xp and need to use it do not upgrade to vista, rather dual boot it

why not just run windows install again and replace vista

He doesn't actually have Vista, I think the title should say Windows Vista Transformation Pack.

But you could run the Vista install again, it has a option to keep all of your files in a windows.old folder while still doing a clean install.

If you reinstall with XP by booting the CD can you still keep your old files? Heh.. weird I've used XP for years and Vista for weeks now I can't remember XP stuff :/

I have both, the Vista home and I downloaded the Transformer pack, because of all the changes I must make to my PC before I can load Vista home, I just transformed it.I will load Vista home on my notebook, it is compatible.

google "0x00000080"

theres lots of sites that have info on your problem

Oh ja, I just meant you don't have Vista on the PC now, its not what is causing the problem.

What are those changes btw? Unless you use some specialist programs, most apps will just have updates available, same for most drivers. But certain things can give problmes..

Vista scan your PC and tell you what changes to make before you can load it.
Mine was to upgrade Nero 6 to 7, Antivirus ware to a later version, some drivers upgrade,PowerDVD 6 to 7. It tells me to delete some programs that's not compatible with Vista (about 5 of them on my PC).It tells me that my USB2 card 4 in 1 will not work after Vista is loaded.
