Loadshedding is back

So according to the loadshedding schedule, I am meant to be in darkness already until 8:30. Well it's almost 18:10. So do I risk starting supper in case someone at Eskom has been on a smoke break and forgotten to throw the circuit breaker and is about to or is their schedule wrong and I've nothing to worry about and can carry on with life. The suspense...!

There's been no loadshedding announced for today...

They will only loadshed when it's announced. There is and was no loadshedding happening yesterday.

Expect more load shedding due to strike, Eskom warns

Two months after wage negotiations started, some workers have downed tools over performance bonuses as talks continue.

Eskom today said South Africans should expect load shedding after workers at some of its plants downed tools amid tensions between the power utility and trade unions over the payment of performance bonuses for the past financial year.

High risk of loadshedding this morning - Eskom.

Cape Town - South Africans have been urged to use electricity sparingly as the country's power utility grapples with wildcat strikes, which Eskom said could result in rotational load-shedding during the morning peak period on Tuesday.

"Customers are advised to keep checking their load shedding schedules on the Eskom or municipal website, and plan on the assumption that load shedding will take place," the state-owned company said in a statement.

ESKOM: COAL TRUCK HIJACKED, EMPLOYEES INTIMIDATED AT SOME POWER STATIONS

JOHANNESBURG – Eskom says that coal trucks have been hijacked and employees intimidated at some of its power stations on Monday morning.

It's understood that some workers are unhappy about the ongoing dispute between Eskom and unions about bonus payments.

The utility's Khulu Phasiwe says that problems started at the Duvha power station in Mpumalanga this morning.

“There were acts of intimidation at several power stations, these including Duvha Power Station where a coal truck was hijacked, its content was dumped at the entrance of the power station, essentially prohibiting the movements in and out of the station.”

But its not the unions according to the resident comrades, its just a bunch of random ne'er-do-wells that come out of nowhere and decide to disrupt things.
 
13h15 Update: Stations affected by strike.

▪Matla (ERI employees evacuated on station management instruction)
▪Arnot (ERI employees were instructed to leave the station by Eskom union reps)
▪Kendal (Access was blocked from the morning)
▪Hendrina (Access was blocked from the morning)
▪Duvha (Access was blocked from the morning)
▪Lethabo (Access was blocked from the morning)
▪Camden (ERI employees were instructed to leave the station by Eskom union reps)

Normally the police just stand around and watch the chaos unfold...
