Eskom will implement Stage 2 load shedding from 08:00 on Saturday 21 February 2015, this is likely to continue until 22:00 in the evening

Stage1 load shedding will be implemented on Sunday, 22 Feb. If additional capacity is lost we may need to reconsider the load shedding stage

But what do the different stages of loadshedding entail? What exactly is meant by stage 1, 2, etc.?

How the f*** do they get this right?

From all fine to Stage 2... skip Stage 1 altogether.

As I remarked earlier, SONA is over, let's roll out the blackouts again.

Same like last weekend. They run the open gas turbines and free fall water plants full blast during the week to keep the lights on. SO they should have enough capacity to go through the weekend but what about next week? So they have to use a good chunk of electricity to pump the water back up to run the scheme again for next week. While they do this they refuel the tanks with diesel for their open gas turbines.

During stage one blackouts 1000MW of the national load is cut, 2000MW during stage two, and 4000MW in stage three.

Thank you. I wish people would put this in every single article related to load shedding.

Damn gonna be Phase 2 on Sunday probably as well.. meaning I will miss most of the Cricket again :(
Tomorrow is OK 12-2pm ..

Edit.. I see Phase 1 for Sunday... that's even worst for me :(

**** Eskom. No compassion for retail or the general public, no need to loadshed during the week but roll on the weekend and we will loadshed them into the ground...
