Hi, i'm new with this stuff could anyone help me with connecting to the local DC++ hub site?

Green Lab

What's greenlab???
Why a select few?
Wouldn't it be beter to allow as much users as possible to expand the database?:)

Do you need to become a member of Green Lab or can anyone connect?

If you want to become part of the GreenLab community, PM me and I'll send you an invite. Just add your email address and a username if different from here :p

Any idea when this site will be up and running??

As far as I can see, they are up...still busy with it, but you can join the servers. I haven't tried yet, though. Been missing out on online fun for awhile due to a very busy schedule everyday...

This weekend I'll try :D

I'm trying out an OpenWeb 1+10 account, yet I cannot access NewsHost or GreenLabs :p And I just started the account! Should still have international as well.

What's up with that?

EDIT:

Ah NVM, murphy's law.

There was network trouble on the day I got the account. Everything is running fine now.

What is the benefit of using IRC? Is it just a chat type service?

While this is possible, it would mean that someone on the network would have to use his Inetkey account to allow outside access into the network. This would mean he/she would have to pay for all the b/w going through her account =P

So while it can be done, it's much too expensive an idea to actually use.

If you don't mind doing this at 2am-8am it could work out quite nicely as it costs a mere R0.01 / MB in this timeframe at the moment! :D

Even using this as some Proxy, could work out. R10.24/GB of international trafic via InetKey + R10.24/GB of local trafic via InetKey + R19/GB Local Prepaid. Totals R39.48/GB of International Usage, but the whole time factor turns me down and the fact that you need an Inside man. The dc++ idea is cheaper though.
