Local Loop Unbundling moving ahead

Don't forget that Ivy will almost certainly be out of office by the end of 2009, which means any commitments past that date are all up in the air.

hrm so its as predicted, bugger all done? not too supprised to be honest, this is exactly what everyone was whining about and then DoC tried to show it can do things and organised the commitee within the same month or the next if i remember correctly.

They still claimed there'd be a few exchanges in metro area's being unbundled before the end of that year .. 2007?? its now 2008.. I won't be supprised if Telkom stall it till 2011 and then pay a miniscule fine as per usual

Here is a quick and efficient way. Get the UK regulators to come here (pay them R100 million each for a months work) and unbundle the local loop for us.

This should be done within a month and we'd have saved a ton of money on skipping the traditional African committees.

Funny how quick and draconian government can be in setting up monopolies and how beaurocratic and slow they can be in taking them down...
It's not a bad idea at all, and ironically the OFCOM LLU people should be familiar with Poison Ivy's LLU Committee's LLU document - considering that a substantial portion of it was [searchforum]plagiarised from OFCOM[/searchforum]'s own LLU document...isn't that just the coolest thing an inept committee could do?.
