I had a quick chat with a Telkom Techie (Family) and I had to ask if there were any good news for my fellow 384k users,...... Sadly no . But what he did mention was once LLU becomes a reality,Telkom will no longer be held responsible for replacing stolen cables.....:wtf:

MTN head said that any advantage of LLU would only last 22 months, so I doubt if anyone will implement.

looks like there's a bigger push for fibre to the home.

Yes because if the copper is managed by a different company, that different company will be responsible. If it's still managed by Telkom, Telkom is responsible and unlike Telkom, the different company might actually get around to doing it. Consumer choice is a beautiful thing.
