Local Torrent & NZB Sites

Well we are all entitled to our opinions, but a coin does not only have two sides but actually three.

I am not trying to change the way these sites operate, just merely suggesting that more good users could take part.

It is all about weeding out the bad ones and making space for good users. You will always get the ones that leech and ones that don’t use the membership. No one ever suggested that the membership couldn’t be reviewed and retracted if you don’t follow the rules and don’t contribute to the community. :)

How else can we weed out the bad ones except by telling them to get to know us and to spend time on this site first contributing to the community?

You have just suggested that we do what we have been doing all along. Weeding out the bad ones.

The membership is heavily enforced and leechers are removed as soon as possible.

Nothing you have suggested has yet told us to operate in any different manner than what we are already doing.

If you want an invite, get to know us. Post a lot here. Let us see your name around a lot. Go into the Off Topic section and talk to us. Then you will get an invite.

We do not invite one post wonders or even 100 post wonders.

That's how it currently works, with a point system. :) I understand what you are saying but it's only after a long time of trying different methods that it has come to be the way it is now.

Get to 100 posts and you'll probably get an invite. ;)

I have always thought that it is all about the content and the quality of the content, therefore the assumption (and yes I am well aware of where assumptions lead to) that the more people get involved the better the content and more of it will be available.

On many occasions on this forum and others, I have asked for an invite and have not received many responses. To be specific I have I have only received one but without confirmation, so no use after all.

This all seems to me pointless, as no one can really share the content that I have obtained and I am sure that there are many people/members of this same forum with the same problem.

So I plead to all of you lets get the word out there and lets share.

Lets make something that is great even greater.

I should have gone to politics (LOL). I don’t thinks so.:D

So can we all have some invites to these local sites (including me)?

Maybe I should show you some stats of the new users there and you will change your story. All these new guys just leech leech leech and they get their accounts disabled. So don't expect a invite anytime soon! :rolleyes:
 
Tomas yes your veiw has some good points, but Life isn't ask and you shall resive (thats the bible :D) You have to earn things, like promotions, like good marks. The reasons These sites are closed to the public is to keep out the trash (have you seen thepiratebay?) and to keep out the people who have nothing better to do then accuse everybody of piracy.
There is a public torrent tracker for local, but it run into its first BS with the law so it down at the moment

and let me add, most of those rescent new users joined because they got free 200gB test accounts from a certian ISP. and they couldnt share something that cost them nothing fairly.

if it's any concilation, your journey has already started. eyes are on you now.
show them you're serious and don't resort to double post trolling, and you'll get to where you want to be in no time

Yes, the question was asked, but keep in mind that this was all with the intention of "Contributing To The Community", and yes in return, being part of it.
 
Tomas, I had the opportunity to look at a local news host and although it is quite nice and fairly coordinated, you can still get the same distros from international trackers and download from the open local news servers...just a little more effort. So if you are a good sharer, why not just join a wug? and show that you care by sharing...then there is no need for exclusive invites...and if your ratio sux, then you will just be restricted a little in terms of how soon you can download.

And contributing here will also expand your knowledge so its not a waste either :)

The contribution was already there. All along these guys were saying that the information in this thread was already somewhere in myBB.
