You need an invite. In order to get an invite, you have to "prove yourself" in these parts. The rule of thumb is something along the lines of 1000 posts and a good 6 months on the forum

It used to be open. They got burned in multiple ways.

In theory the "correct" way to get an invite is to be _invited_ by someone on the inside. i.e. Members should only invite trusted friends, prefereable IRL friends.

In practice its what kaufies said. Though his numbers look a bit on the low side. I'd say more like 2k and 12months.
