Local Ubuntu OS updates server is faulty

Can't even find a DNS setting, just "DDNS" which is either turned on or off - is off.

(ZTE router)

Ok, so anyway I guess we've proven that the weirdness is with MTN. End of the road then :-/

Maybe it will come right when they stop whatever they may be doing this week.

You could still try changing your Ubuntu devices DNS directly under your network settings.

Try making it 1.1.1.1 and see if you have any better results.

Itch needed scratching.. decided to try now anyway.

IPv4 DNS set to 1.1.1.1 , with VPN off

Mirror location test result: mirror.i3d.net in the Netherlands

:giggle: I give up

What? That MTN are controlling more than they should?

Not really just using bottom dollar ZTE stuff.

Seems to be a thing for most LTE routers.

When I still used Rain 5G I was actually shocked how open and configurable their Huawei units are.

Nee fok, it’s definitely all on the actual MTN routing side then.

Or they simply don’t do peering with any local Ubuntu mirror and it’s literally your shortest route.

So bizarre.

But if it works it works. It’s just updates after all so not like it needs sure speed or low latency.

This morning I got the Netherlands suggestion with the VPN on, so that's the winner for now. Better than Indonesia I would think ☔

If I don't post more then it never came right.
