i put the .mpq in my patch dir but is still tells me patch data is available and tries to download it again... weird

What I did

1. Downloaded from link above and put the .mpq file in my World of Warcraft\Updates\WoW-2.4.3-to-3.0.1-TBC-EU-Update folder

2. Started Launcher.exe

3. It still told me there is patch data to be downloaded. Clicked Play (starts WoW)

4. Immediately exited WoW. The patcher app starts and it checks the .mpq file. Takes about 10 mins

5. Done.

i put it in the root, in the updates folder, and in the updates/WoW-2.4.3-to-3.0.1-TBC-EU-Update/ folder and it *still* tells me that it is downloading 0 bytes of 992 MB. funny thing is though it doesnt seem to download anything... just sits there.

yes to all of the above.
could it have something to do with the registry hack on vista?
