The Scottish government are a bunch of spineless twats, almost as spineless as the English government.

The bloke was found guilty in a court of law he should finish his sentence. Compassion is exactly what he didn't show to the victims of his crime.

I mean, WTF ?

He killed 270 people, who never had a few more months to spend with their families. But they release him to have that benefit :confused: All these people on life sentences should not be allowed out on compasionate grounds. Especialy not for murder :mad:
 
Its only fitting that they put a bomb on the plane that takes him back to Libya.
 
They agreeing to release him because he dropped his appeal, very suspicious if you ask me.

The guy still claims to be innocent and many in scotland are still not happy with the trial that has left many questions unanswered.

Seriously though, he's dying and has 3 months to live.

I don't see why the Libyans sent a private jet to whisk him off home though!

Oh that's easy... he'll go home to a heroes welcome and in 6 months time he'll be driving around the streets of Durban buying dinner at fancy places... Oh wait I have my news stories mixed up...

Personally, London is Washington’s creature and I feel that Scotland gave the finger to both. London must be feeling gronky and (I must admit) I feel that America deserves a good snotklap – I can imagine the outrage “We are Amurican. We always get our way!”

There may well be wheels within wheels. I was listening to an Egyptian analyst (who seemed plausible). There is severe doubt about his guilt. It suited everyone to have a Libyan scapegoat (they were on the outs at the time). Now they are cosy and Iran is on the outs. They [Iran] are being set-up as the scapegoat if there is a public enquiry. That’s partially why the appeal was dropped. Too much dirty laundry in the wash. Bear in mind, that the present drama may have been choreographed by America, Libya and the UK. Difficult to discern the truth. I will go with the official version but I will not reel about in gobsmacked surprise if any enquiry reveals otherwise.
 
Actually, I think many politicians in London are quietly laughing their a*** off. They cant lose. The Libyan's are now so chuffed, they will hand out some juicy oil contracts. The Scots look stupid. American disgust is directed north of Hadrians wall. The dude is gonna die soon anyway. All things said, a fine week for the English. lol.

Don't forget the oh so innocent American's shot down a passenger Iranian plane prior to this claiming it was accidental and offering no other thing to support this either. So the Iranians at the time were considerably pissed off.

Yep, and some Iranian group claimed responsibility for lockerbie calling it revenge for the Iranian passenger plane shot down.
The US just apologized that was it.

It was an accident (stupid one), which occurred in a war zone. The families were compensated I believe and apologies offered etc.

The Iraq/Iran war was US sponsored, Saddam would not have lasted that long without US support.
 
I did see the welcome he had this morning and I must confess, it certainly rankled me.
If my family killed in the Lockerbie bombing and saw the welcome he got I would surely be pissed off.

That ship actually straid into national waters when it engaded the airliner which it shot down in Iranian airspace. Both illegal.

The US might have settled at the ICJ but they never accepted responsibility for their actions or apologised.
The settlement was very small compared to what Libya paid to the lockerbie victims. All the ships crew actually received medals.

Yep, Gaddafi is not the smartest guy for allowing a welcome party, so people who believe he is guilty will be pissed.

I'm saying it's not a fair comparison. One was a deliberate slaying of 270 people with a bomb, whilst the other was an attempt to protect a ship from a perceived hostile Iranian F15.
