I think they are allowing Gadaffi to save face since he has aspirations to become a moderate.

Nevertheless the glee with which people celebrate death and torture is worrying, not only in this case, but generally.
The level of resentment, hatred and need for revenge just keeps expanding, and of course this cannot go on, because the eventual outcome will be extinction for all of us.
It is inconceivable that in spite of our technological achievements and global communication system, we still behave like a bunch of barbarians, whether it is terrorism, torture, rape, deceit, apathy or lack of curiosity and narrowmindedness.
World peace and a united global humanity is not just hippietalk, it is vital to our future as a specie.

Uhm.. i dunno what you were watching but i saw some dude who says he was innocent come home to welcome? I don't recall them celebrating the plane destruction when he touched down and stepped out of the plane. Narrow-mindedness??? I think your post is pretty much up there with the rest of them.

The Libyans handed him over for the trial. He was found guilty by one of the most respected court systems in the world and he did a small part of the sentence.
They charted an aircraft especially for him and he was greeted by thousands of people at the state-controlled airport, some of whom presented him with flowers. All of this is contrary to promises made to the Scottish authorities.
He appears to be getting a hero's welcome. A TV interview was planned as well, but hasn't happened (yet?).
And you point? Apparently the airport greet was small compared to what it would normally be for Libyans and there was no live broadcast of it in the country itself. The irony is the Libyans mention oil deals(which were pre-req) the UK/London will be participating in future, which uk now flatly deny. Will have to watch and see who sponsors new development in petroleum there

Gronky = nose out of joint. The best example of this was in The Muppet Show. When Miss Piggy frustrated Kermit the Frog and he was too diplomatic to mention it, his nose would hump out-of-joint (as frogs go he was a decent sort). London has a bad-smell expression like Kermit’s over Scotland’s judicial independence.
