I'm looking for some good speakers, I don't really have room for a 5.1 speaker setup, so 2.1 is what I'm looking for, also I prefer speakers that have some bass, and nice clear rich sound (who doesn't ;) ).

Anyway I've had a look at Logitech Z-2300 Speakers and they seem to be quite good, although the price tag is quite high, so anyone opinions on them? Apart from the price :p

Don't mind much spending a few R's on good speakers seeing as they pretty much last quite a while (I usually buy speakers like every 8 years or something), and I spend most of my time listening to music and such so the price isn't really the most deciding aspect...

Z-2300's! You cant go wrong.Next best thing is Bose Companion 5 at around R4900

Actually, the Altec Lansing MX5021's are better than the Z-2300's, in the same price range. Having listened to a few setups, I'm ecstactically happy with these. They're not sold much, but I managed to track down 2 sets last year.

Do some googling and check the details. Also, after pairing them with a good sound card, the sound was improved noticeably.

I have the Z-2300's. goes VERY loud. total overkill really, but super nice if you like bass in games and movies. If it's music you'll be listening to, check those altec lansings.

I like the logitechs too, but as flarkit mentioned a good soundcard is really important. A mate had an onboard soundcard and they sounded ok, then he got a high-end creative soundcard and the quality difference is amazing.

Also got 2 pairs last year, from buycomputers.co.za I'm not sure if they sell them any more though.

I would also reccomend them over the Z-2300's, but they don't have nearly as much bass, which is the way many people prefer it. The bass on the Z-2300's is far too loud, but it's impressive for the first few listens. Depends what you like really, but the sattelites on the MX5021's are awesome.

EDIT: Aah thanks for making me appreciate them again, listening now. :)

I had the Logitech Z3e's , not sure if it's still avaible. The Z-2300's is good though

well, as I mentioned earlier, it depends very much on your main application. The AL's win handsdown when listening to music (unless it's R&B or bass heavy stuff), the Logitech's rock in gaming & DVD playing.

Alright looked for the Altec Lansing speakers but even on their website it says out of stock, couldn't really find any...

Would really love to own the Creative Gigaworks S750, just seems like such a waste of money though if I rarely will get to use all the speakers...

Looks like I'll be going for the Z-2300's then, thanks for all the info!

The Z-2300's are a worthy replacement for the AL's. For casual listening and gaming, even the cheaper Z4's wouldn't be bad either.

I use the AL's for gaming, various types of music (mostly bass-heavy electronica) and there is absolutely no way that I'd ever complain that my sub is underpowered. ever.
