Lol at article in magazine!

So I was reading the Fairlady today and they had an article about how dangerous video games really are..They had a green list which is educational and includes Pokemon and Wii games. A yellow list they classified as "pure Entertainment" including Super Mario Bros and Gran Turismo.

And then the RED LIST!!! "Games with violent content that demand a closer look": Included was Mortal Kombat, GTA, Doom and...get this...WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!! :eek::eek:

hmmm......
 
Pokemon should be in the blood red list, that ***** is evil!! :p

So if it's entertaining it's more devious? Was this article written by an amish person perhaps?

Get this into your thick skulls you driveling idiots... games don't cause violence, poor parenting, lack of moral values, emotional abuse/neglect etc. cause violent behaviour. Can a game cause any of those, not so much.

Funny how people will look to blame anything but themselves for their failures.
 
Yes, this is ridiculous. After a hard day at the office and some road rage on the way home I am most definitely going to grab my battle axe off the wall and go farm some of my neighbors for gold. Maybe I will just ride my tiger to work and avoid the traffic. Better yet, hop on my huge flying bird that hangs out on my chimney.

Maybe if parents were active in their children's lives rather than ignoring/neglecting them for their jobs or whatever else they deem as more important, there wouldnt be the need to blame a video game for a kids problems. Maybe if parents didnt expect a video game to raise a child they wouldnt be so outraged when it failed. Unplug your kids for a while people, its not the games that makes them bad, its YOU

There was a report that a small boy that survived the Spanish plane crash thought he was in a nasty movie and wanted to know when it was going to end ..

Just shows how vulnerable young minds are.
 
Funny how parents disregard the content and age restriction on movies/games/books/music and let their children watch/play/read/listen to these. Then when their child turns out to kill a bunch of people at school with a sword/knife/gun and-or commit suicide because their social skills are limited to that of the internet and games like Doom/Unreal/WoW/Slipknot....

How quickly the absolute bad parenting and upbringing of these kids get forgotten and even more so the entertainment industry blamed for all their evil.

So fine. Don't want to bring your kid up the right way by spending time with them? Teaching them right from wrong? Teaching them about life, love and everything else? Don't have time for them because you have to work and mommy has to work as well?

Then simple... dont have kids

But oh no. "I could never get pregnant" or "We weren't planning on having a child" BULL****. Plan to not have children properly. Then you won't end up ****ing up a young life by NOT being good parents and then blaming society for everything except yourself.

I'm pretty sure most adults would have felt that they were in a nasty a movie during a plane crash.

It is simply the human way of coping with a really terrible situation.

Have you never been in a situation which you thought "this can't be happening, its not real" only to realise after a bit that is is indeed real?

True :( I'm no longer part of the Kara groups in our guild, but every now and then they need a DPS so I help out. 2 nights ago though, on Curator the newblings attacked Curator instead of the flares leaving me the one getting attacked by them and being a caster it takes so much longer to attack which left me dead...

Last boss I did with them then made a casual DC :p

Getting co-ord for Bloodboil is tough, only way we managed was gchat, rchat and RL yelling on vent

/ontopic, I think they believe wow has an extremely negative addictive nature that makes it pure evil

LMAO! I loved that hahahahah, my boss looked at me funny from laughing out loud :P

It's ok though, if I get fired I'll get one of my neighbours demented wow playing kids to come crit his ass then loot it ... god, I hate it when parents blame video games for their kids problems.

I saw something on the Crime and Investigation Channel about some kids that went bos @ their school - their parents and the parents of the dead children and the not dead children and the teachers started blaming CounterStrike .. WTF!?

Adults of today, that didn't grow up with video games, don't understand how it all works and are naturally afraid of it. They didn't grow up with their faces plastered to a computer monitor, we did - it's so natural for us - and parents are freaking out.

Any parents reading this, that feel that way - get a clue please? You're child won't turn into a raging psychotic sociopath from playing a damn game, what a load of utter garbage... pffft

This type of reaction is not limited to children, but to adults and teens as well. It's called "Psychological trauma" which is a type of damage to the psyche that occurs as a result of a traumatic event that involves a single experience, or an enduring or repeating event or events, that completely overwhelm the individual's ability to cope or integrate the ideas and emotions involved with that experience. In this case, the event of the plane crash.

The child's psyche was unable to cope with the events that had occured and had subconciously altered his perception of reality.

While I understand your point, it doesn't really have any relevance to games or any other form of media :)
