Some good fights but somewhat spoiled for me by the commentators.
Even though Lomachenko won, being told every 10 seconds that he's the greatest pound for pound boxer in the history of boxing gets tiring. Everything he did was celebrated like it's never been seen in boxing. He may be an amateur legend, but 15 fights, 14 wins and 1 loss, doesn't make you a boxing legend. Long way to go.

They also read the Hugh Fury vs Alexander Povetkin wrong. Fury was totally outclassed. Povetkin looked pretty good for a 39 year old veteran.

Lastly the Charlie Edwards vs Julio Cesar Martinez fight.
Martinez destroyed the overhyped Edwards, but was really stupid with the late blow. Correct call by the WBC to declare it a no contest. The pressure from promoter Hearn and the press to do it right there on the spot may have been a bit uncalled for. Then again the sooner the better I guess.

The general consensus is (and I agree with it) that Ray Robinson is the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the history of the sport.

Lomachenko may only have had 15 fights but he's basically cleaned out the 3 divisions that he's competed in thus far.
He's already assured a place in the Hall of Fame, IMO.
The fight with Campbell was tougher than the scores indicated. Loma def knew he was in a fight.

Hughie Fury is a competent HW but just not at the top contender level. He’s good enough not to get absolutely embarrassed and tough enough not to get stopped, but, yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Haven't yet seen the Edwards Martinez fight.

This... And rightfully why Lomachenko is being touted as a P4P great. Many ppl dont know that his amateur record is 300+ and 1! That is insane!

It was always going to be tough against a naturally taller, bigger longer, opponent. And we always expected that Loma would look "lesser" at 135. His best weight is lightweight after all.

Campbell definitely made him feel it with his shots to the body. But watching the fight again its clear that Loma already figured him out after Round 2 and was controlling the fight from then on. He would have gotten a KO to finish it too had Luke not gone for the double leg take down.

Exciting news is that Gervonta Davis will vacate his 130 belt and come up to 135. He should be Loma's next fight.

I would love for Mickey Garcia to come back down to 135. That's the fight I've wanted to see happen for a long time now. Lomachenko v Garcia. But yeah, Davis would be a great matchup, too.

Yeah Mikey should come back down to 135. He disappointed badly against Spence Jr.

I cant help but think that he ran from Loma. Cos he was saying lets meet at 135 then he ran away to 140 to fight Spence. And got caught out against a bigger, longer fighter.

Theres also all of the promotion nonsense that needs to be considered for the Davis fight... Top Rank and HBO and all that nonsense. But Loma said in an interview before the Campbell fight that he would most want to fight Davis.

Lets hope they can make it happen.

I doubt he ran from him. I think its the other way around, in terms of Lomas promoter. Garcia has a history of bad blood between him and Top Rank. Probably hates Bob Arum with a passion. It's highly probable that that's been the spanner in the works as to why such a fight hasn't yet happened.

And it boggles the mind why Garcia stepped up to face Spence. Money, sure. He also mentioned something about "legacy". But he didn't have to take on the monster at 147. Spence spars with middleweights and is a middleweight himself who really has to train down hard to shed the weight to make welterweight. There's a reason why even Garcia's trainer/brother wanted no part of Spence.

Donaire at 36, though...
Best days behind him but can still whack.
There was a time when Donaire was the #4 pound for pound fighter in the world, only behind Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Marquez.

Innoue is a little beast! Very rare that a fighter from the lower divisions possesses that type of power.

Looking forward to it as well.

I'm just happy Supersport has matchroom promoted fights again?

Its a 10 year gap but age aint nothing but a number for philipino's if Manny is anything to go by. :P

Donnaire looked good in his Quarter and Semi in the series. TKO and KO. But then again the monster looked straight out SCARY!

Its going to be a chess match. But i reckon it will be decided by TKO/KO.

Inoue with his scary power in both hands, but donnaire is also a known switch hitter and crazy good counter puncher because of it. and he looks good despite his age.

Makes for a mouthwatering match up. Ala Hajime no Ippo

Anyone else following local boy Kevin Lerena in Cruiserweight? Hoping he jumps up to facing some of the other top 10 guys on boxrec soon as he is mostly matching up against guys much lower rank than himself for now. Cruiserwight devision just got more interesting now that Usyk moved up to Heavy.

Yeah u are right... the promoter thing is always a sour point when it comes to these things.

Next big Fight to look forward to? Inoue vs Donaire!
Currently live on Sky Sports Action.

Inoue winning but Donnaire is putting up good resistance.
