Long Distance Relationships

Or he can put a positive spin on it. Spending too much time with each other puts you in that comfort zone where everything becomes mundane and you stop putting in the effort. Long distance, as hard as it is (and provided there's no cheating BS), might force you to make the most of your time together when you do see each other.

Sure, Im not saying anythings impossible. In fact , now that I think about maybe he should give it a try just to see if he can make it work. Things to remember: You need commitment and you need to communicate. There was something else but I forgot.

...mmm....trust?

the last thing you want is to have doubt creep in that she is faithful. you either trust her or you don't. Don't expect her to sit at home every weekend because you're not there. Allow her to still live her life, go out with friends, and just be. the moment you are going to start getting jealous or insecure, chances are you won't make it.

And that happens easier than you think. It's a two-way street, and if you want her to trust you, then you need to afford her that same trust.

That.

Well back in the day when conscription was still around, I did 2 90 camps. Wasn't a problem. However since it wasn't a separation by choice rather enforced by law, maybe that made it different to say someone "choosing" to work away.

if yous dont see each other for more than one month then it likely wont work. My gf lives in the Northern Cape and i live in Paarl Western Cape. All the arguments are due to the distance issue. Had to cut things with the other GF as well cos she in jozi, no way in hell im moving to that Sh## hole of a place, and she wont leave her family behind...but oh well...if you love her then yous will make it work. Why doesnt she move down? or why dont you move to her?

yous - the word that describes 2 people from the original cape town dictionary of life :p

My gf and I were together for 4 years before we were seperated by work (in jhb and dbn). We did long distance for one year which was extremely tough - she became very insecure and I became very consumed by work. We saw each other every 2nd week and thanks to our abundance of SA public holidays, we ended up spending quite a lot of time together. After a year of long distance we were both back together in the same city - JHB, and moved in with each other.

It's about 18 months later and we're getting married this Sunday :D

In the end, the experience made us stronger in so many ways.
