Look & Listen "F" up!

Pretty much yeah... sucks to be us... or me in the case of me going BEYOND THE CALL of duty to get something I knew I wasn't going to get after the, say, 3rd phone call to a L&L branch.
 
Update at 4pm (3rd April 2008):

I received a call from Judy @ L&L, I couldn't make out much of the chat because the line started to go bad so I just phoned the head office myself and spoke to Lance.

He confirmed that they are really are sorry, the suppliers apparently sent them a newsletter about stock that was arriving but they were let down (I am however still wondering about the LAST time this happened).

Lance also said he will sort me out as soon as he can.

I'll keep you guys updated on what happens regarding this.

Too, bad if it was the USA and they said WOW at 99c they would HAVE to sell it to you at that price... suppose thier "T & C" kicks in as well as "printing" error's -_-

IMHO, L&L is just another chain-store for people that do not know any better. Sorry gdzia, not poking you but the aveage consumer... :)

Unfortunately Look and Listen can't be held responsible for suppliers letting them down.

It's fairly common for items to arrive late from suppliers, etc. It is quite a complex chain of dependancies that gets a game from a publisher's warehouse in the US to the store shelves in South Africa.

I know about the old bait and switch but it is not always the cause of issues like this.

Glordit, is there any indication that Look and Listen are going to sell the game for more than the price they've advertised the game at? I think you are confusing the issue the original poster was having with another completely unrelated one.

No, it's cool, just sometimes, these "chain-stores" have some pretty good bargains :)

Normally I buy from Take2, or whatever... I just like to take advantage of a bargain when I see it - just like the next man.
 
What has probably happened is that the ad had to be submitted a long time before publication date. The shop was expecting stock to arrive before the ad was flighted. For whatever reason the stock didn't arrive, and the stores weren't aware that it was going to be available, so it didn't appear in their inventory.

Just a guess, but based on the number of late deliveries I've suffered in the last few months.

ok R 399 vs R 403

Then u have to phone 300 places, lets say at 50c a call, once you find one you have to drive there, lets say R 50 for a round trip.

I guess R 403 is still cheaper :D
 
Well, I've been contacted by a member of MyBB who is willing to sell me the Battle Chest for R320, I should have it Monday, but I so wish I could get it sooner!!!

Actually, I'm going to see if I can't get it tonight since I'll be out 'his' side of the world tonight.

EDIT: Getting it tonight! YAY :)
