Hi guys. I'm looking for a 7 seater car but still has a reasonable amount of storage space. (Not these 5+2's) At the moment I have a choice of the Kia Sedona or Chrysler Grand Voyager and I am not sure which one I should go for. Any one have any experience driving these cars? How do there fuel consumptions compare with the Caravelle? Kia has 5 year/100000km motorplan + 10 year warranty. Chrysler gives 3 years / 100000km + ?3 year warranty. In terms of petrol vs. diesel, which is a better option? Thanks in advance.

Stay away from Chrysler. Their 3 years / 100000km warranty means little when Chrysler themselves probably won't be around in 3 years' time. In fact, if the Fed does not bail them out I won't be surprised if they don't see 2009.

the problem with most 7 seaters, (5+2) is the last 2 seats are for really small kids , even the prado or landcruiser 100, the others are even smaller , like the pathfinder etc.

ive driven the new voyager recently , the petrol model is very powerful but heavy on fuel.
the diesel model is little sluggish but once its moving (120+) it goes well , enough power to overtake etc.
im not too sure about their situation and whether they see more years.

the verso is nice but im sure that is small for you.
look at the vw transporter , good value for money , the tdi engine is a winner .
if you buying a big vehicle like this , the engines are strong and powerful enough to cart a trailer for extra luggage.
good luck !

As far as I know StrongTurd, their SUV plant in USA for the grand voyager has been closed due to poor demand in US (they are going for bigger vehicles now). All orders for that plant are manufactured in Canada now. I they are in Ess Aich One Tee, how come they're launched the new one. Do they just wanna make a killing and leave us all in the lurch?? Not sure.

Try a Mecredes Viano or Vito. You can't go wrong with these. My dad's got a Viano for his holiday house, and it realy works well. You easily fit seven adults plus luggage and you still have space to breath :)

Fuel consumption on the 2.2 diesel hovers at around 11l/100km when loaded.........

The space inside is amazing, driving it is a breeze, it's got a better turning circle than most cars (including my fiance's Mini)........and it's got the 5 year / 100 000km service plan + warranty.

The Vito I don't have personal experience, but from what I've heard it's just as capable. My suggestion would be to go and test drive them and see for yourself. You won't regret it.

Thanks. I drove the Viano and I don't like it. I think my choice is between the Kia and the Voyager.

Try this one. The diesel engine kicks like mule. If I needed a large vehicle, this would be my only option.
I drove a diesel one earlier this year and was mightily impressed.

Eish! ... Just checked the prices. Between R400 - R500 grand. Not on a teacher's salary.
