I'm looking for a cheap car to go to work, I have been driving Honda Brio finally yesterday it gave up on me after 2 years. I bought it second hand back in 2016 the guys I bought it, from didn't disclose that the car was involved in an accident. Late last year around December when I took the car, for service I was told the car was involved in accident .

So yesterday the car gave up on me engine fell down, I'm definitely sure repair costs it's going to be around R45000. So I think it's better I cut my losses and walk away get myself something cheap. Or wait a bit around July I buy something decent brand new.

If I go for something cheap I'm looking at Ford Figo, Hyundai i10 or Nissan Micra. I see the go for around R55k to R70k.

What do you mean the engine fell out?

Makes no sense. What's wrong with the car?

Most cars on the road have had an accident. If it's been decently repaired, it shouldn't cause issues, other than potentially not looking as good as it was when new.

Sorry english not my language the engine fell down it didn't have engine mounting , it wasn't repair correctly from what I hear and saw.

That's obviously not true.
Go to any used car dealer and I guarantee you that over 50% of the cars have had some sort of spraywork.

Maybe I should be more clear though, not like a serious accident but I'm including bumps and scrapes that needed repairs.

What wait?! It collapsed from its mounting?

Complicated something like that the front cross member, is bent so I suspect the was not engine mounting. Now when I look at the car the guy who serviced my car, did advise me to sell the car ASAP. He said it's going to cost me lot of money.

Now I understand what he was talking about. The engine collapse on one side.

An average driver will make one accident every 18 years. An average car owner will sell his car in less than 18 years, so most cars for sale will not have an accident.

Are you going to sell the car to a scrap yard, you can use the money from there and increase your budget.

I don't know I'm thinking maybe I should fix it, after it's repaired I will know it's 100% safe. The car has been good to me only yesterday it disappointed me.

On the other hand I'm looking forward to getting a new, car the Honda Brio is behind when it comes features like bluethooth etc.

I'm also considering Mazda 2 I see the going for around R60 000 on cars.co za. Just I don't trust these garages with funny names.

Look at WeSellCars website, they have a 2012 Hyundai i20 with 85000Km for R75 000 at their Midstream Branch.
