Looking for a decent car for under 150k

I've looked at the Jazz and its a decent car and comfy but its a bit too old man for my tastes, might have to bite the bullet though.

The swift is interesting but resale value worries me and its not a manufacturer that I'm familiar with.
I see a new one goes for 150k with basic setup, should I look second hand? Not a bad looking car!

Your face.

:p

It's a fantastic appliance, boringly so though.

Any reason why the jazz's are going for such a good price?

People are scared about high parts costs, though they really aren't that much more expensive than the other brands. Plus they don't break, so it's a needless worry.

The Jazz is also seen as a bit of a "Mommy wagon", but if you can get past that image (or find yourself a nice 1.5 with the Sportpack options installed) then it's great. I can't imagine going for a Polo or Fiesta over a Jazz, but then I am a bit of a Honda fanboy.

Haha,no offense intended.I've just looked at the newer 2012 models and they are rather nice. Will try get down to a dealer this weekend

None taken. ;) Have a look and drive in one. They're great little appliances. I promise not to hate you if you buy something else. :p

+1 on the swift much better option than the rest in this thread so far :)

I really like the Swift - and there is certainly nothing wrong with any of the Suzuki products as they have a proven track record.

I'm not sure where the SA models are assembled, however, they could be either, Japan, Hungary, Thailand or India - the last two worry me! ;)

Did a quick search on autotrader here.

I think its cheap because its a run-out car from the previous version fiesta and they cant price it the same as the face lifted model because no one will buy it. I don't think there's something wrong with it.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to spend less than 150k for a reliable and economical second hand car.
I've narrowed it down to a 2013 sonic,a 2012 I20,a 2012 Rio and a 2012 Accent.
I don't want to pay more than 150k,ideally around 130k but I'm able to squeeze out a bit more if I find a good car that suits me.

I've got a little rat on the way so it'd have to be a 5dr,I've currently got a single cab bakkie that I'm sad to get rid of,we all grow up at some point I guess.
Any suggestions would be welcome, even if not listed above.
I'm currently leaning towards a I20,I like the Rio but a number of friends have it.

Thanks in advance.

Rio 1.4 Sedan would be my choice... around 140-150k
