Looking for a flat in Hatfield

I am currently a second year student at Varsity College Pretoria and am looking for a flat in Hatfield, I am more interested in Unilofts or Unicrest.
I am hoping that someone here might know someone who owns flats in the area, and I know you guys will tell me to look at some property websites and yes I have done that I am just weighing my options and oh depending on the type of flat available I could be sharing the flat with a friend.

Well considering that we want to share our total budget can be adjusted between 6k-7k

I stayed in unicrest when they just finished them, in 2006 I think. Back then rental was 5-6k per flat. I believe they were all the same, 1 bed or 2 bed (with lounge or the lounge was converted into a bedroom as well). At the time it was expensive but all you needed to move in was a bed and a kettle. All the other appliances were included, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and even a dryer.

Not sure what the rentals are like now or what the condition of the place is. Or even if the appliances survived all parties that happened there

I stayed in hatfield, Rented from an estate agent across the road from UP(kinda vague)

My daughter stayed in City Property, close (one block) to varsity and it worked out well for her concerning no travelling, safety and ample under roof parking. You are not gonna get much for R3.5K. Best is to share with someone. At City Property two is allowed to share a one bedroom flat. A corner unit or one with a small "veranda" or one with opening door to outside (there are just safety rails) was big enough for two but the normal one bedroom flats are small and very hot. The backside units was the best concerning noise further away from the streets which gets hectic in the evenings and weekends and then of course the "C block" is the oldest but have the biggest single flats.

Not sure what the double units cost now. Good luck as environment is king when you study.

Hatfield is expensive. Rather look for communes in Brooklyn or Colbyn which is close by.

Whenever I hear of people talking about suburbs and locations in Gauteng it always sounds OMINOUS.

It's always, either expensive ... or dangerous because of crime.
