Hi finally got some money put together and hunting a car,

First choice was a nissan 200sx s13,
RWD
1.8L Turbo = Lotsa fun.

Buuuuut wary of reliability due to being 1991- 1993.

Is there anything newer in the 80k - 120k price range that'd be as much fun and preferable RWD and Turbo Charged, I know this narrows it down a lot but I have been driving a corsa lite 1.4 for 2 years, have sympathy.

I would still go for the Nissan and keep the 20k-60k that you will have spare, for repairs. :)

I'd really try for an s2000 :D oooh they sexy... but not sure what they go for 2nd hand..

I had a 200sx a few years ago.

It was an absolutely awesome car! I regret selling it terribly :( It was extremely reliable, but parts are not so cheap unfortunately.

It also got lots of admiring glances from people, which is surprising considering that its an old Nissan :D

They are extremely modifiable though. The most popular mod was to drop in the SR20DET motor from the S14 and then to tune that engine to the ends of the earth.

Go check out the 200sx club for heaps of fanatics and information :)

Not sure re: Reef/Coast analogy, was from South Coast (KZN) now CT. Have a good friend that has an RB25 in his SX, was thinking of going for an SR20det, usually pretty easy to find at about 55k, or just a stock ca18det, seeing as right now im in an underpowered toy.

S2000 hmmm, I think pricey but I'dd do some research,
Mini Cooper - NOOOOOOOOO
Mazda MX5 - nice, but prefer the SX by a long shot.

thanks for responses so far keep going ^_^

Not really an analogy! :D

Being at the coast it's just that you don't need a turbo - at your budget N/A might be a better option. But then it seems from your tone that you want to go all "gone in 60 seconds" on the car, so a turbo might be preferable...

Stick your budget into a search on AutoTrader and see what comes up. I'll pipe up again if I think of something that might fit the bill...

Mini Cooper

I assume you mean the Cooper S with a John Cooper Works kit added (146kW, 150kW or 155kW depending on model and kit).
The standard 1.6's are nippy but I wouldn't call them exciting cars to drive in stock form.
Will probably be way outside of the OPs budget though.

Lol, suprisingly not looking to become a drift king or hit 300km's per hour, just love the feel of driving a car with a turbo, after scooting around in an SX I fell in love with turbo boost ^_^

Tnx Enigma ^_^

Maybe with turbo boost... turbo lag is that horrid, flat feeling you get before the turbo does anything. It's horrible... ;)

u can get a Scoob GT shape for around R90k - R100k (or even less) depending on condition and mileage.
Awesome car and the best Scooby in terms of power to weight ration.
160fwkw + turbo + and 4WD makes it an absolutely Awesome car.

What about a twin turbo Toyota supra. Not sure what they go for ao how easy they are to find - but I've seen a few around. Also very fun cars.
