Looking for a new open world PC game.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

I havn't played The Witcher 3 so i can't compare but from what i saw Dragon's Dogma is not as epic but it's still a very cool game.
Used to be only on ps3 until it got ported in 2016 which is probably why it's under the radar for the most part.

I suggest you play the Witcher 3. I have just completed my third play through and each time the game played out differently depending on my actions and my dialogue choices. You must include the Blood and Wine DLC,

I am looking for something more in line with The Witcher Wild Hunt. I believe Dragon Age: Inquisition is favorably comparable.

I initially had a not so enthusiastic opinion of GTA V, was never drawn to it. I pirated it just to see what it's about and was so blown away I purchased it. It's a fscking awesome game, never a dull moment and you also have the online component that's still going strong. I love both witcher 3 & gta v equally I would say. Hey *cough* download it *cough* and see for yourself.

Ghost Recon Wildlands out on 7 March. Open Beta before then to test.

I have heard good things of this. I am looking forward to seeing if it lives up to reputation.

My entry for OP would be ...

Far Cry 2

Said fame has been played well more than 250 hours. It's a bit long in the tooth for some, but I still like it :)

I'm also looking for something similar, apparently this is not too bad:

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

GTA V is also currently half price on Steam...

Kingdoms of Amalaur was nice but it gets boring fairly quick and then it feels like a tedious grind to finish. The reason for this is they have too many fetch quests and their level diversity is very poor. Most dungeons looks exactly like the last except with a different layout.

Having said that it is still a cool game and if you just casualy make your way through it there's some fun to be had.

To be fair Dragon's Dogma i suggested earlier in the thread also suffers a bit from tedium because of not enough enemy variety.
Killing a Griffin or a Chimera the first time is kinda cool but after the 50th time the novelty has worn off.

GTA V obviously. It's the benchmark for a reason...

Can a steering wheel be used for driving and the keyboard for everything else?
I once played a car racing game where the keyboard had to be used to drive. That sucks.

Just invest in a Xbox controller, it's a good dual purpose solution.

For Honor looks pretty amazing too. Just some network issues EA needs to sort out before I get it.

From what I saw it looks open world. However, I read it's scenario based or something.

Nope. Definitely not an open world game. Played in the closed beta.

It is very arcade style in nature. The 1 v 1 / 4 v 4 type fights. Nothing open world about it.

I like the Dark Souls series having played all the major RPGs (Oblivion, Skyrim, The Witcher 1/2/3, Dragon Age 1/2).

It's not strictly open world but the areas are linked. It's also a bit shorter than those other games I metnioned where you can spend a few hours without really progressing.

Subnautica!!!

I seen some videos and its early access but it seems to have quite a bit more story than I expected. Very keen to play this.

Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs, Quantum Break, The Division?

Is Quantum Break open world, I thought its a branching storyline but not open world.

Looking good.

Well, if "open world" is the only requirement, GTA V is damn amazing.

Skyrim and friends are also very popular.

+1 Skyrim plus its just got a remake so its shiny again.

GTA V online is awful. Single player is a Great game with loads to do.
GTA V public servers a just murder pits. And earning money to buy cars, planes, boats and houses is just Rockstar trying to get you to buy Shark Cards.
