Anyone here still involved with Sim racing? Would like to get involved with local people.

Hey,

Me and a few mates race LFS on a Europe server.
Almost each race is full house (32drivers).

Races take place every sunday evening at 20h00.

Currently waiting rfactor2 to be fully released and will def buy that

I also play this :D Anyone else from SA up for some casual races? I do not participate in any leagues as the atmosphere is too intense in 99% of them, e.g. miss one race and you're off, one light bump into someone and you're reported and likely penalised, etc. Some even require an entrance fee.

I normally race in racedepartment.com's club events, which are more of a casual environment. I race really clean, but club races help you to not take it too seriously when someone bumps into me.

Such a shame that rFactor 2 doesn't seem like it will really be an improvement on rFactor 1 :/

Yeah I bought rf2 and was really disappointed. Since my last post I have moved over to iracing and it is now the only simracer I play and its in a class of its own although it can be quite an expensive one as well.

In my opinion its really worth it if you are a real simracing fan. No other sim on pc can compare IMHO.

And so the plot thickens :D

If you have a PS3/XBOX360, you can look at www.consoleracing.co.za or www.sagamer.co.za and join online racers for whichever racing game that has online capability. Obviously none of the console games, with the exception of perhaps Forza 4, can match rFactor for true realism.
