Hi Guys,

I'm sure if you've heard this before but I need a Tax Consultant; someone or company relatively cheap.

Who do you suggest?

Groupon has a coupon for Taxtim for R99, will that do?

I have quite a bit of medical bills I need to claim and I want to do it right, lol.

Thanks in advance.

there is only one place to fill additional medical claims , it states on the form "other medical expenses not paid by medical aid"
you just fill in the total there. You should have received a medical tax certificate from your med aid which states the amount not covered by medical aid.

+1

Just read your tax return and fill in what they ask you, no need to pay someone to do it. You can't fill in anything else than what they ask, so there are no real clever ways of manipulating anything to "get more tax back"

Thanks. But I didn't receive a certificate for Medical Aid, most of my bills a just paid cash...but I have proof.

I also saw this site, they ask you such easy questions based on everything you need to complete your return even all those extra medical costs. The questions are in English not in all that tax mumbo jumbo so you actually understand what you are doing and do it right. i saw on their site that it is backed by a sars practitioner. pretty reliable i think.

I think it talks about how to claim medical stuff. if you have non medical aid expenses you can claim that as well. the site seems to ask you for that and then fills it out for you even. great stuff i think and seems affordable even at the non groupon price.

You can deduct more than just medical costs.

Home office expenses, income protection premiums, retirement annuity premiums etc.

There are a lot of ways of getting some tax back.
