Hi.

I currently have a 1Mb uncapped wireless internet link with 2 static ip addresses in Table View, CPT. I am looking to move away from my current ISP. Any tips on who I should talk to that can provide a good low cost service? Thanks.

Regards,

Morris

Try Comtel as they are quite professional. Not sure of cost but would likely not be cheap.

Personally think you need to choose the service based on cheap or low cost as typically you do not get them combined.

There is lots.

Table view area:

- Interworks
- Vlocity
- Snowball
- Amobia
- List goes on...

Check here, http://www.wapa.org.za/coverage/coverage-areas

Don't go with anyone, do your research. Those I listed is ones that I know is operational within Tableview with an acceptable user-base, related to people who don’t change WISPS, in that area.

I’m no wireless supporter when it is concerning internet, it is a great medium when delivering other services.

Thanks. I will check on their products. I need to access dev servers on this link and the wireless works perfect. I have been using a wireless link for the last couple of years.

WAPA is a good place to find out which wisps cover your area.

I was with Wireless Online for more than a year (Comtel backbone I think). Service was good, but they're very expensive. (http://wirelessonline.co.za/).

I've been on Kawuleza since 1 Aug...started off OK...trial period was brilliant...but be warned, service is questionable. Steady degradation to the point where I have constant disconnects and erratic speeds and pings, effectively rendering the service almost unusable. I keep having to switch over to my congested ADSL to email them support queries.

It's been the one issue after the other. Friendly support, quick to reply that they're busy sorting out any particular issue, but a constant stream of problems.

Some poster above said it best - choose between cheap price or quality, don't expect both.

Going to cancel their service tomorrow after spending R2500 on equipment and a new WAN router... :(

I don't work for Amobia. But have nothing but good things to say at present.

Full line speed all day and night, local pings +-20ms, int. at 155ms to UK.

Average around 60/70 gig a month without any questions asked.

Highly recommended for 2mb uncapped line.
