Hi Guys,

Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I am looking for an IPad for the family to use.

Yes Ipad – With most of the family having Iphones they will find the operating system easy to get used to.

Here is my thing I don’t really want the latest and most expensive IPad.

I wanted to try and find a contract for a Wifi enabled IPad that can be used at home and when we are out.

Could anyone point me on the best route to take with this.

You mean "and Cellular" means you can't phone off an iPad? WTF?

Have a look on their website for their device deals. Not sure if you would qualify, it is limited to certain types of accounts - but if you do, it's quite a good deal - and you have options on several models. Mine's paid off this month - waiting for 22 October before deciding which offer I will take up with them next! :)
 
An iPad isn't a PC. Family doesn't share an iPad :) good luck with that :)

Hi there

If you are new to iPads and don't want to shell out too much on a brand new one, I've got one in excellent quality I'm selling on my mums behalf. She has since upgraded (did the same thing, got a small one to start until she was comfortable with it then moved up). It's a 16gb, wifi plus 3G, and she is also selling her Smart Cover and sleeve. She's amended her asking rate to R3000. Let me know if you are keen and I will send you pics :-)

There's a guy here in the iPad forum selling a used 3 year old iPad for way to much, maybe strike a deal.

2 year old. I've got the same one and might be selling in a couple of months. R3k might be a bit too much but then R2.8k doesn't sound a lot at all so the if he is willing to go for R3k light was suggested in that thread and it is in good nick it's not that bad a deal at all.

Must be an iApple thing then. There is so much better and more-ish available for new (as in with warranty and stuff) for less that I just don't get it. I'm just not a fanboy. I use what works at the best price/performance point. Apple (even used, apparently) doesn't fit the bill.

This is not a thread about Android vs. Apple. I myself am not a big fan of Apple either. People are however willing to pay more for an Apple than a Android just like some people are willing to pay more for a Ford than a similarly (maybe even better) specced Hyundai. It's just the way it is.

Like I said, not a fanboy. (not of any particular brand or OS or whatever) I use what works. If that oke can sell a three year old iPad for more than R3k, please let him call me, I could use a sales person like that.
 
I believe Makro had a deal on an iPad 2 on a Voda 500Mb contract @ R199. It was for today only. Even though its an iPad 2, I think it was a good deal.

Now that 22 October is not too far away, I think the iPad 3 and iPad 4 clearance deals will also not be too far away.
 
Checked out this bad boy @ iStore CW.

That 12.9" screen is a mother! But still so crisp; feels amazingly well built.

Feels great in the hands....pity about the bonkers price
