Looking for basic webhosting with remote mySQL access

Hi,

I'm renting a game server from gameservers.com (hosted in SA) and i'd like to improve it by having the mySQL database integration (leaderboards and such) be locally-hosted instead of the free US-webhosting they provide. It was a way better experience when I tested hosting the DB on my own pc, but obviously I'd like it dedicated. Is local webhosting the best way to do this?

You could do something like hetzner's R99 web hosting.
If possible, you can try Amazon's free RDS DB hosting: https://aws.amazon.com/rds/free/ which is based on usage.

AFAIK most hosting providers allow remote MySQL connections so your options are plenty.
Any of our R19 web hosting packages and up include MySQL databases along with remote connections (see signature for link)
