i need to buy a new external and looking at 2tb but not many people have stock

please do let me know as im looking for one below 2k

I've got a 2TB Toshiba Stor.E 3.5" 5400RPM Silver USB 3.0 at R1139

I'm just confirming stock. Delivery would be R99, except free delivery in Mpumalanga.

ya makro only have 1tbs now for R600 had to settle for that, got one on monday, still had stock in cpt.

That is a very nice price... what drive has Toshiba stuffed in that enclosure ?

Eish... If it is the same Sahara "assembled" Samsung in no-name brand enclosure... avoid.
Friends company bought a few from Hi-Fi Corp because of the price, and they give all sorts of errors, unusable... the enclosure is the culprit. I removed the drives from the cheap rubbish and replaced all the enclosures and no more problems.

HiFi Corporation fail: 1TB 2.5" cheaper than 1TB 3.5" ... either misprint or blatant price fixing.

What drive is in the Sahara enclosure?

Very true - those cheap enclosures are hdd killers!!!

Not too sure about the current special mentioned... the ones I saw were all Samsung Spinpoint 2TB OEM 5400rpm SATA drives.

I dunno... they were all 3.5" Sahara "branded" external drives from HiFi Corp... silver and black external enclosures with Samsung drives inside. The packaging boxes were Sahara green and white things.

I cannot buy from Sahara so cannot confirm.

I am really not sure. It could very well be a Seagate or WD drive. I will find out tomorrow. I can knock the price down even more if there are any other interested buyers.
 
I recall seeing a PC Zone advert last week selling them for R999
